The International Congress Centre (MCK) in Katowice is the largest congress centre in Poland. Opened in 2015, it is located in the Katowice Culture Zone next to the legendary Spodek Arena. Designed by JEMS Architekci, the building stands out for its post-industrial architecture and distinctive form featuring a green passage extending across the roof. The International Congress Centre is located at 1 Sławika and Antalla Square in central Katowice, close to the A1 and A4 motorways, approximately 2.5 km from the main railway station and 30 km from Katowice-Pyrzowice International Airport. Together with the Silesian Museum and the headquarters of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, it forms the Culture Zone - a new urban district developed on the site of the former Katowice coal mine. The venue offers approximately 35,000 m² of usable space, including the ABC Multifunctional Hall covering more than 8,000 m². The hall can be divided into three independent modules and can accommodate up to 10,000 people in an exhibition or congress layout. Organisers, exhibitors and participants also have access to 26 conference rooms, 3 ballrooms, an auditorium with 570 seats and parking for 1,200 cars. An underground passage connects the centre with Spodek Arena, allowing the MCK-Spodek complex to accommodate nearly 25,000 people at the same time, a capacity unique in Poland. The International Congress Centre hosts major national and international business congresses, including the European Economic Congress, the COP24 United Nations Climate Change Conference and Intel Extreme Masters tournaments. These events confirm its position as a venue of global importance. The centre also serves as a trade fair, entertainment and event space, combining congress, conference, exhibition and entertainment functions within one complex.
