Poznań International Fair - trade fair and congress centre in Poznań
Poznań International Fair is one of the largest and most recognisable trade fair and congress complexes in Poland. The venue is located on Głogowska Street in central Poznań, directly next to Poznań Główny railway station and the main bus station.
The history of Poznań International Fair spans more than 100 years. Today, the complex hosts trade fairs, congresses, conferences, concerts, gala events, sporting events, festivals, product launches and major public events.
The venue offers approximately 150,000 m² of exhibition space across 15 air-conditioned pavilions. The varied architecture and size of the buildings make it possible to organise specialist B2B events as well as large industrial, automotive, construction, agricultural, food, technology and consumer trade fairs.
Exhibition pavilions at Poznań International Fair
The complex includes pavilions of different sizes, heights and structural designs. Some buildings have a historic character, while the remaining halls have been constructed or modernised in accordance with contemporary technical requirements.
The individual pavilions can accommodate standard modular exhibition stands, extensive custom-built stands, vehicle displays, industrial machinery, agricultural equipment, production lines and large-scale structures.
The layout of the complex makes it possible to combine several pavilions within a single event. During the largest trade fairs, individual thematic sectors, exhibitions and accompanying events may be located in different parts of the fairgrounds.
Before arriving, exhibitors should carefully check the pavilion number, stand number, correct entrance and the gate designated for installation access. Distances between individual parts of the complex can be considerable, so the pavilion designation is important both during deliveries and throughout the event.
Four-pavilion complex
An important part of the fairgrounds is the complex comprising Pavilions 7, 7A, 8 and 8A, known as the "Czteropak". The pavilions are connected by a shared covered area and Aleja Lipowa, which can serve as a circulation route, meeting zone, catering area or additional exhibition space.
The direct connection between the complex and Poznań Congress Center makes it possible to combine the trade fair section with an extensive congress, conference and artistic programme. This solution is particularly useful for events that require simultaneous support for exhibitors, conference participants and guests attending accompanying events.
Pavilion 7A can be used as a modern event space for several thousand participants. Its equipment allows conferences, gala events, shows, product launches and events requiring advanced audiovisual production to be organised.
Poznań Congress Center
Poznań Congress Center is an integral part of the complex and is designed for congresses, conferences, concerts, gala events, corporate events and business meetings.
The centre includes a variety of conference rooms, spacious foyers, dressing rooms, organisational facilities and catering areas. The rooms can be used for parallel panel discussions, lectures, workshops and presentations held as part of a trade fair.
The direct connection between the congress centre and four exhibition pavilions makes it possible to organise events for nearly 20,000 participants. The conference programme can therefore take place simultaneously with the exhibition, product demonstrations and meetings with exhibitors.
Sala Ziemi
Sala Ziemi, also known as Earth Hall, is the most recognisable space within Poznań Congress Center. The hall covers approximately 1,925 m² and can accommodate nearly 2,000 people.
The audience area includes a permanent grandstand and seating arranged at floor level. The number of floor seats depends on the size of the stage and the event layout. The hall is complemented by a foyer covering approximately 1,000 m².
Sala Ziemi has the technical facilities required for congresses, concerts, performances, gala events, presentations and events requiring professional audiovisual support. It can also serve as the main conference hall during large trade fairs.
Outdoor and event spaces
Poznań International Fair also offers outdoor areas that can be used for open-air exhibitions, machinery demonstrations, vehicle presentations, catering zones, sporting events and additional attractions for participants.
One of the distinctive spaces within the complex is Plac Marka, surrounded by pavilions and used as a central point for events. It can function as a meeting place, relaxation zone, promotional area, catering space or event venue.
The fairgrounds also include Zielona Rzeka - a publicly accessible green space intended for relaxation and spending time between events. This area complements the traditional trade fair infrastructure with an open recreational zone.
Technical facilities
Technical capabilities vary between pavilions. The halls differ in height, roof construction, flooring type, permitted floor loads and access to utilities.
Electrical, internet, water, sewage and other connections required for exhibition stands and machinery presentations are available in the pavilions. The range of available utilities and the locations of connection points should be confirmed before preparing the stand design.
Selected pavilions allow suspended lighting, screens, signage and advertising structures. Every such installation requires prior approval from the technical team and must comply with the structural parameters of the specific building.
For heavy machinery, vehicles and industrial equipment, exhibitors should verify the permitted floor load, gate width, clearance height and the possibility of using forklifts, lifts and other installation equipment.
Stand installation and dismantling
Exhibition stand installation is carried out according to the schedule prepared for the specific event. Delivery vans, lorries and technical crews may use different gates depending on the location of the pavilion.
During large events, specific time slots apply to deliveries, unloading and vehicle departures. Exhibitors should check in advance the registration procedures for installation teams, vehicle passes and the possibility of leaving vehicles on the premises.
Custom stand designs may require prior technical approval. This applies particularly to double-storey structures, high walls, suspended elements, stages, electrical installations and stands constructed from materials subject to specific fire safety requirements.
Because the pavilions differ significantly, one set of technical parameters should not be assumed for the entire complex. Each design should be adapted to the specific hall and the regulations of the event.
Catering and facilities for business meetings
Restaurants, cafés, bars and temporary catering points operate within the Poznań International Fair grounds during events.
Poznań Congress Center includes GARDENcity restaurants, which can provide lunches, business meetings, banquets, gala events and corporate functions. Organisers can also use catering services adapted to the number of participants and the nature of the event.
Extensive catering facilities are particularly important during events lasting several days, especially when exhibitors hold meetings with business partners without leaving the fairgrounds.
Parking
The MTP grounds include the three-level PWK Underground Car Park, which offers 650 spaces for passenger cars. The entrance is located on the Głogowska Street side, near Poznań Główny railway station.
The car park operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Its direct connection to the fairgrounds makes it convenient for event participants, exhibitors and business guests.
The complex also has outdoor areas that, depending on the event layout, may provide parking for up to approximately 2,000 vehicles. The availability of surface parking and areas intended for technical vehicles may change when squares are occupied by exhibitions, stages or outdoor events.
The underground car park is intended primarily for passenger cars. Rules governing access for lorries, vans, vehicles with trailers and installation crews should be checked in the documentation for the specific event.
Getting to Poznań International Fair
One of the greatest advantages of the venue is its central Poznań location. Poznań Główny railway station and the bus station are located only a few hundred metres from the entrances to the complex.
Numerous tram and bus routes operate nearby, providing connections to the city centre, Poznań districts and the most important transport hubs.
Poznań-Ławica Airport is approximately 6-7 km away. The venue can be reached from the airport by public transport, taxi or car.
The central location provides access to an extensive range of hotels, restaurants and services. Many hotels are located directly next to the fairgrounds or within a short public transport journey.
Poznań International Fair from an exhibitor's perspective
Poznań International Fair is prepared to support events of very different sizes. The complex accommodates small modular stands, extensive custom-built stands, double-storey structures and displays of heavy machinery and vehicles.
The large number of pavilions allows organisers to match the exhibition area precisely to the nature of the event. For exhibitors, however, this means that the technical parameters of the hall must be checked carefully, as conditions may vary significantly between pavilions.
Before preparing a stand, exhibitors should confirm the hall number, permitted construction height, floor load, connection point locations, suspension options and the rules for deliveries and unloading.
During large events, it is also worth checking the distance between the stand and entrances, car parks, conference rooms and main visitor routes. The location can have a significant effect on visitor numbers and the way the exhibition operates.
The connection between the exhibition area and Poznań Congress Center makes it possible to organise events combining an exhibition, congress, lectures, product presentations and business meetings. This is particularly important for industries in which the conference programme forms a major part of participation in the trade fair.
